Pastry Cook/Baker

Convivial Cafe is seeking a pastry cook/baker to join our kitchen team. This person must have professional experience in a commercial kitchen. We are looking for someone who has proficient experience in pastry, baking, and/or previous high-volume scratch production. Please, no home bakers.

The person in this position will be aiding our team by doing tasks like mixing and scooping doughs, shaping pastries, rolling out pie/tart shells, and being a key "utility player".

You must have excellent communication skills (unafraid to ask questions or to ask for help), be a positive team player (we are a small team and have no tolerance for drama), extremely organized (take notes, write lists), be self-sufficient (you may end up working alone for a few hours), and be able to perform all duties in a professional kitchen setting using standard commercial kitchen equipment and supplies. Must also work precisely, very cleanly, and be able to flexibly problem solve based on production demands.

Pastry-school experience is a plus, but comparable professional pastry experience with a minimum of 1 year’s experience will be considered.

Please reply with a resume and cover letter highlighting why you would be a great addition to our kitchen!
