One of Convivial Café’s core values is supporting the Mercer Island community. As part of this support, we are pleased to offer a community room for use by Mercer Island organizations during our operating hours.
The room is a partially enclosed area at the east end of the public seating in the cafe. It has two tables that seat four people each or eight people total when pushed together. Please keep in mind that the community room is a mostly open space with just two-and-a-half walls and a curtain; it does not have a door. Therefore the space is not private. The general public will be occupying other portions of the café during your event/meeting; so it is likely that sounds from the café will be heard in the community room and vice versa.
The cost for using the community room is $25 per hour or the purchase of an equivalent amount of beverages and food from Convivial. Reservations are limited to two hours. The hours of use for the space are the same as the cafe’s hours.
There are six electrical outlets in the room. Groups using the space for meetings will have to bring their own white boards or easels and pens.
If you are interested in using the space, please send an email at least 48-hours before the requested reservation time to email@example.com. Please include the name, phone number, and email address for the main contact for the group requesting use of the community room as well as a short description of the group and what the planned use will be (meeting, family celebration, etc.)
- Groups are required to bus the room and dispose of materials in the appropriate bins (landfill, compost, recycling) at the bussing station;
- No alcoholic beverages may be brought into the Convivial Cafe or consumed in the community room;
- Youth organizations must have an adult present during the entire length of the reservation; and
- Nothing may be attached to the walls of the community room. Please feel free to bring easels if you wish to display posters or photographs while using the community room.
